Colorado Landmark Gives Back!

At Colorado Landmark, we are passionate about getting involved and giving back to our community. Landmark is our company name and  our guiding philosophy – check out all of the incredible charitable efforts put forth by our wonderful agents throughout the year!

 

President and Founder Joel Ripmaster is a proud supporter of the University of Colorado Buff Club, which raises funds in support of the nearly 350 student athletes at the University of Colorado.  These funds provide scholarships, and safeguards the mental and physical wellness of these student athletes.
Joel also supports the YMCA, to help them provide more than $1 million in financial assistance each year. Access to Y support means our neighbors can overcome the hardest moments of their lives.

 

Buffs4Life is another organization that Joel is a proud sponsor of. Their mission is to provide financial and mental health support services to current and former CU Boulder student athletes and coaches in their time of need.

 


CLR Vice President Jennifer Fly is a proud member of GiveBack Homes, a non-profit that links real estate professionals with families in need. GiveBack Homes creates social change by building homes for underprivileged families in the United States and abroad, with funds generated and then donated from brokers’ real estate transactions.  The organization’s motto – “Homes Change Lives” – rings loud and true for Jennifer and she is thrilled to be a part of this social good movement.

 


 

Marybeth Emerson is on the Board of Directors for the Shining Stars Foundation, a non-profit that provides recreational and social programs for children and their families who are challenged with cancer or other life threatening illnesses.

 


 

Brett Sawyer volunteers as a member of the Board of Directors for the Boulder Area REALTOR Association (BARA) and was the 2019 Chairman of the BARA Communications Committee. He is also the Chairman-Elect for the 2020/2021 term for the BARA Board of Directors! Another Board Brett is a director of is Commuting Solutions; dedicated to delivering innovative transportation options that connect commuters to their workplaces, businesses to their employees, and residents to their communities.

Growing up in Boulder, Brett Sawyer was exposed to bicycling at an early age; racing as an amateur, then switching from racing to race support. Avid in the bicycling community, he learned about World Bicycle Relief, an organization that provides purpose-built bicycles to individuals and groups in Africa. Bicycles have been shown to dramatically increase villagers’ access to education and healthcare, and provide more efficient trade between communities. For every property sold, Brett donates a bicycle to a trained and qualified recipient.

Brett also contributes to RPAC, the REALTORS Political Action Committee, which has been critical in maintaining national homeowners rights, renewal of the National Flood Insurance Program, and retaining the mortgage interest deduction on Federal tax returns.

 


 

Since 2001, Jenner Eiss and her family have sponsored over 50  Boys & Girls Club campers. At Gates Camp, located in the Indian Peaks Wilderness Area, children from low-income families spend a week in the mountains hiking, fishing, canoeing, rock climbing and exploring who they are through the lens of the “Five Pillars”: Leadership, Enthusiasm, Respect, Cooperation, and Honesty.  Jenner says “Our children are our future and I believe in giving children  opportunities and experiences that will help open them up to the  unlimited potential that lies with in each and every one of them.”

 


 

Kamla Chopra is an active member of the Rotary Club of Niwot, and served as the group’s treasurer for two years. She also enjoys volunteering for Habitat for Humanity and the Community Food Share, and is a member of the Niwot Business Association.

 


 

Deborah Read Fowler donates $500 from every closing in the 80503 zip code area to the Niwot Children’s Park. She also serves on the Board of the Community Food Share, and is the President of the Women’s International Niwot Club (WINC) who welcome diversity and actively celebrate cultural difference from all over the world, as well as different parts of the USA.

Other local organizations Deborah sponsors include:
Mountain View Fire Rescue, Niwot Elementary and High School as well as Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, the Boulder Symphony and Children First of the Rockies, where services are designed to help families in conflict or crisis improve their quality of life and ensure the safety and well-being of children.

She also donates to Love for Lily, to support families in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) to thrive during their stay and at home; as well as CASA who together with state and local member programs, support and promote court-appointed volunteer advocacy so every child who has experienced abuse or neglect can be safe, have a permanent home, and the opportunity to thrive.

The Saul Team hosts an annual coat drive for One Warm Coat a national, non-profit organization that works to provide a free, warm coat to people in need.  Coats are collected and distributed in the communities where they were collected without charge, discrimination, or obligation.  Since their inception in 1992, they have given away more than six million coats.

 

      The Saul Team also donates to Boulder County Open Space & Trails and the Boulder County Humane Society.

 


 

 

Aku Desai  is proud to support the Boulder Safe House (SPAN) which is a human rights organization committed to ending violence against adults, youth and children through support, advocacy, education and community organizing.  SPAN began providing services in 1979 and is crucial to the network of support that offers critical “safety net” services to vulnerable, low-income and at-risk populations. Paige Coutts donates money and volunteers her time at The Golden Retriever Rescue of the Rockies, a mostly volunteer non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that helps rescue-rehab and place unwanted, abandoned or surrendered Golden Retrievers into loving forever homes.

 


 

Kevin Byrne donates to the Boulder Community Food Share and Attention Homes in Boulder. Attention Homes was established in 1966 with the mandate to provide ‘attention, not detention’ to displaced youth, serving over 12,000 young individuals as they become healthy, productive members of our community. They have always been responsive to the needs of youth facing homelessness due to domestic violence or family breakups, so that they no longer are sent to detention centers for housing.

 


 

Mia Ness donates shoes, coats, gloves etc. to A Precious Child in Broomfield every year, where they assist children and families facing difficult life challenges such as abuse and neglect, crisis situations and poverty. Through their four Key Focus Areas, A Precious Child aims to bridge the gap in children’s education so they can become secure, self-reliant, contributing members of their communities as adults.

This past year she was part of the silent auction donations for Pie in the Sky – Project Angel Heart who, with the help of thousands of cummunity members, prepare and deliver delicious, medically tailored meals – free of charge – to Coloradoans coping with life-threatening illness.

 


 

Meghan Bach annually sponsors the Community Food Share as well as ACE – the Alliance for Climate Education, teaching young people about the science of climate change and empowering them to take action!

Meghan sponsors lots of other organizations such as:

The Conscious Alliance, a movement of artists, musicians, food makers, and music lovers on a mission to end hunger in underserved communities nationwide.

Crayons to Calculators collects and distributes new backpacks and school supplies to ensure that Boulder Valley and St. Vrain Valley students head back to school with the tools they need to succeed.

The Trust for Public Land works to protect the places people care about and to create cloe-to-home parks — particularly near cities, where 80 percent of Americans live. Thei goal is to ensure that every child has easy access to a safe place to play in nature.

The Denver Rescue Mission not only provides physical sustenance to meet immediate needs, but spiritual nourishment through programs and support to help guests grow in their faith journeys. The greatest gift of all can be a second chance. Through understanding, professional counseling, and health services programs, they ensure their guests know they are valued and capable of incredible change.

Meals on Wheels provides fresh, nutritious meals and daily well-being checks to Boulder residents regardless of age or income. Making Life Easier.
