In 2010, American Express founded Small Business Saturday to help businesses with their most pressing need — getting more customers. The event encourages people to shop at small businesses on the weekend after Thanksgiving. The idea has grown into a powerful movement, and more people are taking part than ever before.
Small businesses are like snowflakes, each one is unique, and the downtown Boulder shopping district is made up of more than 70% locally owned/operated shops! One small purchase can make a big difference. Small Business Saturday is a day dedicated to supporting small businesses on the busiest shopping weekend of the year.
